A SPIRIT PROCESSION

Rain

This series of carvings was begun in the spring of 1997. The concept was to symbolize archetypes of the seasonal round in Maine, in the form of dancing figures bearing totemic objects, along with a series of emblematic masks. The show was hung that August, so the procession ended at High Summer.
